Feeling lucky?

Once again, I participated in the 10 minute Craft Dash project, just because it was so much fun last time. This time, I also participated in Imaginisce Monthly Challenge.

So, a card in 10 minutes with the colors pink, green and kraft and inspired by the sketch with the color green and the word "luck" or "lucky". Sounds easy right? Well, sort of. I had to go digging a little bit and the only things not imaginisce are the stamp, ribbon and the background paper. I used things from 4 different collections and also the packaging from one of their pop-up posies and one of the flowers is a chipboard. It took me 9 minutes and 57 seconds, I forgot to grab some stuff to have on hand and I had to go running for the super glue, that ribbon did not want to stay put.

I have a lot going on right now in life, and I think that just about everyone could say that. But I made a promise to myself that every time I did a family thing like dishes or laundry or cleaning, I was racking up points for a mommy only thing. I think that when I have that reward of me time at the end of the hard other work, it helps me get through it. I also find myself thinking about how I want to do something or what I'm going to do with that time and I feel a little bit more decisive or prepared for the fun thing. In that light, today's paper goodness comes from a challenge I learned about yesterday, and the idea intrigued me. You have to make your "whatever the challenge is" in 10 minutes. That's it. How often do you just sit there and say "I want to do this, but where do I start?"

The challenge can be found here I finished my card in 9 minutes and 43 seconds! It might have been faster if I had had my sewing room all unpacked and hadn't had to go running for some glue or something circular to trace (yes, my circles are slightly crooked, I cut them out with scissors). But I gotta say, I love this card!

I used some papers I had from the DCWV Lemon Flower stack sitting around, and the ribbon is from May Arts, and the stamp is from one of Unity's KOM sets, November 2012, I think.

The great story with the ribbon and paper is that a few years back I won the stack with 4 rolls of coordinating ribbon from May Arts during one of their blog hops and I love to dole out little bits and pieces here and there.

Also, in trying to finish within the time limit, I wasn't quite paying attention, and the card opens on the left, not the right!

DCWV Northridge "Bow" Challenge

 I am slowly trying to get back into the crafty swing of things and finding all of my stuff and organizing it and all of that good stuff. But an amazing person came over to help us pack up and move and even stayed to unpack it too, and I don't even know her except that she works with my MIL and volunteered to come help. How amazing is that? So I made her some Shower Soothers that just had to have something cute to be placed inside. I used different pieces from DCWV stacks and their napkin ring bow template.

I was going to use a specific ribbon that had the hot pink and zebra stripes in it, but once I started finding papers, the colors took over and the ribbons vanished for another project. The zebra paper came from the Stack 7 and the pink hounds tooth came from the Halloween and Fall stack. The blue cheetah came from Recollections All Girl. The i-rock and gems are from Imaginisce.

"Chews" to serve

 Our annual Pinewood Derby is tonight. We have opened it up to the community, which means that we get to race 5 cars from our family as well as one scout car. I'll post some other pictures of them later, and the racing too. The candy cars to the right are for the overall community prizes.

 Also at this time, our Cubmaster, my wonderful hubby, will be giving some treats to the leaders of the different dens. I used the "Thanks for chewsing to serve" stamp from Sunbeam stamps. I used the blue and yellow cardstock for the bags and labels. My Cricut has been working like a horse lately for me and my different ideas. I also filled them with assorted chocolates and candy bars.

I stamped in blue on the yellow and in gold on the blue. I am sorely remiss in not having yellow ink and will definitely have to remedy that situation soon, especially if I continue on in Scouts, which is most likely given that I have 3 boys.

Dance Sing Love Live

If you've read any post on this blog, you'll know by know that I love to make notebook covers. And this one was no exception. I love this pad of paper called "Floral Foliage" by Recollections, which I'm not sure if it's DCWV or not, but I found it at Micheals. The stamp says "Dance like no one is watching, Sing like no one is listening, Love like you've never been hurt before, Live like it's Heaven on Earth. Mark Twain" and came from Sunbeam Stamps. My original purpose for this stamp will become apparent in a few months, hopefully after I get through (or started) on my Wood Badge training. But for now, I have a new notebook!
