I did make Keieligh's jacket to match the boys, but I can't find any pictures, so I guess I better take some pictures of that too.

For Halloween, Keileigh got a new tutu for a fairy costume because the fairies didn't come to turn her blue dress pink. (Ok, why are all the disney princesses dressed in pink? don't they like any other colors?) This is the only picture I have of it, but we also at that time took a ton of pictures to create our own ABC book.

Craft Stuff

I'm trying to post all of my projects on here, that way at least I have motivation to take pictures before giving them away and maybe also give some ideas on projects for other people. Don't worry, for those of you that asked how I made Keileigh's dresses last year, I was waiting until this summer to put together some pictures of how to do it since they are more of a summer play dress. I am almost always in the middle of something crafty, sewing, quilting, or crocheting, as I have found that usually it helps me to relax to work with something that almost always does what I say to do the first time and can't talk back to me.

Keileigh's Tea Time Quilt

Keileigh picked these fabrics a while ago and this design set came out just recently from one of my favorite digitizers, Cindy of Julia's Needle Designs. I used the fat quarters cut into fourths for the front and then cut up two pairs of old work pants that had been given to Nolan, but that didn't fit him. I started the quilt on a Wednesday and then finished it on Friday night, would have been done sooner, but I was having major thread issues with it breaking and then running out of that particular color or even running out of white thread completely at one point in time.

Sewing for Baby

With this baby, I did not have an ultrasound, we wanted to be surprised. I love to sew and create something special for the baby and this time not knowing, I think I went a little over board with ideas and projects.



I have been learning to crochet and one of the best projects for learning, I think is burp cloths and blankets. I tried to do each one with a different edging and I had a lot of fun looking up edgings online. There is one blanket with a set of burp cloths not here, they are in the wash so I haven't taken a picture yet (the night time turtles blanket my mom sent to me for me to do)

This first one was for Keieligh for when she gets to hold the baby, she has a blanket and pajamas out of the same fabric that my mom had made for her and she sent me the remnants so I could make something for her dolly and ended up doing this instead. there are two of this one


Knut got some burp cloths too for helping out, I made four, but sent two to my sister fer her little guy

Nolan had said that the burp cloths I was making weren't big enough to protect his suit shoulder from spit-up, so I made him this set of terry cloth and flannel. It is approximately a fat quarter flannel that says "I am a child of God" in different languages and then embroidered on the terry cloth.


When we arrived in Idaho last year, Elsa gave me this bolt of fabric that she had bought from a friend who works for Hancock's. It is like sweatshirt fabric with a soft flannel on the outside in a classic Winnie the Pooh print. We had decided on pajamas for me and after cutting them out, there was still a ton of fabric left. I turned to my absolute favorite sleeper pattern and made a coming home outfit that could be for a boy or girl.


I even had enough for a blanket, Mom this is the width of me doing that edging twice, and I thought I was being loose with the thread!


This is getting ready to come home, the pj's were nice and big and comfy for me and Cyrus wasn't complaining either.




Here's the other "either way" sleeper I made. We found a print with the same colors that said "I love Mommy I love Daddy" for the blanket and burp cloths, but Elsa made those.


This outfit was for if it was a girl. You can tell how much I wanted that to happen by the fact that I didn't make a just for a boy sleeper, even though I do have left over fabric from the other boys pajama pants to make one for him, I wanted to wait to make sure.

I found the butterfly fabric first in the remnant bin at Walmart and they had a piece to match, the plaid there too. I made the burp cloths first and then found it again a few months later to make the blanket and sleeper with a different contrasting fabric. I love the look of the mix-matched sleeper and hat.




This is my very first crocheted blanket. I found this yarn at the dollar store in California and I knew that I wanted to learn to crochet just so I could make something with it. I had found a pattern that said it was for this type of yarn and I got the hook it called for, but when I tried to make it, it was so big and loopy that I knew it wouldn't last at all, I've had previous experience with Knut picking out one strand to carry it by. I tried to make this three different times and ended up ripping out the stitches every time. I finally got a slightly smaller hook and tried again, and it worked! It's just double stitches with a single stitch border, but I love it. Knut tried to borrow it, he says he needs a new "holey" blanket, but we thought it was too pink for him. He'll get a new one soon, we just have to find the right yarn and pattern to make him one.

Gifts Recieved

So, I know it's almost halfway through February and I haven't done anything here except say I was done with the making of the gifts, but hey I just moved a five person family across five states and I think I'm due a little slack. The kids are still getting settled a little bit and love to have mommy's attention a lot. All the gifts I made were well received. I only have pictures of some, but everyone agreed that I should open a boutique and try to sell some stuff. We'll see about that, some other things have to happen first, but anyway, here's some of the pictures. And don't worry Kim, I will be uploading some of them to the "I Made This" section of the webpage.

Pincushion Teacup, I made two using the same style teacup with silk ribbon flowers embroidered on one side of the pincushion before it was stuffed.
